DaVinci® Laboratories specializes in meeting individual health needs, so we offer supplements that are specific to age, condition, and gender. This week's blog post lists the top three supplements for women. These supplements cover every aspect of women's health, for every age range. From bone and brain health to cardiovascular health and menopause support, these three supplements cover everything a woman needs to stay healthy throughout her life.* Remember to talk to your healthcare provider before starting any supplement.

1. Spectra™ Woman

Spectra™ Woman is the only women’s high potency full spectrum multivitamin mineral supplement to contain 56 nutrients, including those most important for today’s woman, such as calcium (for bone health), iron (for healthy red blood cells), beta-carotene, biotin (for nail and hair health), gamma linolenic acid from evening primrose oil, octacosanol, grape seed extract (for maintaining capillary strength) and vegetarian digestive enzymes.*

2. A • D • K

While the combination of vitamin A, vitamin D, and vitamin K2 is not commonly used in a bone integrity support product, we have developed this product based on new research in the book, Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox, by Kate Rheaume-Bleue, ND. Dr. Rheaume-Bleue argues that the “bone-building benefits of vitamin D” depend on vitamin K2, and when vitamin D is “assisted by vitamin A,” this relationship “stimulates the production of osteocalcin”, which is activated by vitamin K2.* She contends that these fat-soluble vitamins are “profoundly different” than other nutrients because they bind to proteins, especially K, which allows the proteins to bind to calcium so that it can be better utilized in the body.*

In light of these findings, A • D • K is recommended to help support the following:

  • Bone structure, density and integrity*
  • Proper bone remodeling*
  • Calcium utilization*
  • Cardiovascular function*

The combination of A, D, and K may prove to be an essential tool in supporting bone health during menopause, after an organ transplant, and many other critical periods of a patient’s health history.*

3. Cal Mag

As stated above, calcium and A • D • K really go hand in hand. Magnesium also supports proper mineral balance and absorption when combined with calcium and vitamin D3, so looking for a supplement with both calcium, magnesium, and D3 can be beneficial, such as Cal Mag.* Calcium, most well known for supporting bone health and strength, makes up about 2 % of our body weight. It’s involved in the transmission of nerve impulses, muscle contractions (including the heart muscle), blood clotting, cholesterol management, proper sleep and for supporting strong bones and teeth.* Taking A • D • K and Cal Mag together provide more comprehensive support.*
